Just two weeks from now the NSF Team will be touching down in Portland to get the 2016 National Sports Forum underway. We couldn’t be more excited with how things are coming along with some great speakers and breakout session topics it should be a great three days.
 
One of the companies that will be joining us in Portland is Avnet. Avnet does really great things with their analytics platform. They have partnered with teams and the results have been extremely impressive!

PROGRAM TITLE

Avnet: Edge Data Analytics Program

OBJECTIVES
 
Originally thought to be used only for the largest companies in the country, data analytics is becoming a tool that many businesses use in order to understand their marketplace and consumers on a better level. Avnet, and more specifically its Edge program, is focused on providing venues and the cultural attractions industry’s with better business outcomes. With the release of this tool, attractions are beginning to recognize the benefits of pulling data from multiple customer touch points to increase awareness and insight into buyer behaviors.   
 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Edge program uses a combination of business intelligence tools and a data warehouse, to take data from various locations and compile that data into meaningful information that businesses can use to positively increase revenue.  The Edge technology is broken down into two major products that serve the cultural attractions and venue spaces, StadiumEdge™ and VenueEdge®.
 
Where Avnet’s Edge program differentiates itself from other data analytics tools is in its comprehensive overview of operations – reporting, analysis, dashboarding, data warehousing, planning and consolidated information. Taking into account this information based on compiled data over a specific period of time, the Edge program provides insights to create new and added revenue streams for organizations.

PARTNERSHIP

 
The application of this technology has led to teams, businesses and venues alike using Edge; who are using this tool in order to better understand their customers, market and increase their bottom line. Teams such as the Chicago White Sox are using Edge in order to maximize their ticket sales, whereas Legends Hospitality is using Edge analytics as a differentiator in their concession sales.
 

RESULTS

 
While in this space it is the teams and companies that largely identify results, the feedback Avnet has received about its Edge technology has been nothing but positive and well-received from the companies that have and are currently using their data analytics tool.      
 

LOOKING AHEAD

 
When looking at what the future holds for this program, Edge is slowly creating more of a buzz around the industry. For Avnet, it is tasked with getting teams that won’t move until they are forced, to feel more confident in trusting what the Edge program has to offer in the data analytics/solutions space.
